Description:
The Department of General Business, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management of the Marilyn Davies College of Business (MDCOB), at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) invites applicants for a non-tenure track, renewable position in Supply Chain Management as a lecturer to begin in August 2026.
The candidate will teach courses in support of the College’s major programs. Courses may include supply chain management, operations management, logistics, procurement, transportation management, strategic sourcing, supply chain analytics, and related subjects. Faculty are expected to teach courses offered at the primary campus located in downtown Houston, as well as off-campus locations in suburban Houston. Courses may be scheduled during the day, evenings, or weekends, as needed to serve students, and may be delivered in face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats.
Qualifications
- A master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related field, with a strong preference for those with an MBA from an AACSB institution.
- At least two years of professional experience in supply chain management or related functional areas relevant to the programs offered in the Marilyn Davies College of Business.
Strong preference will be given to applicants with:
- Previous experience teaching supply chain management or related subjects at the university level, especially in an AACSB-accredited business program, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- A doctoral degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field from an AACSB-accredited program. A record of successful scholarly or professional activity in supply chain management, logistics, or operations.
- Preference will be given to applicants with a record, or demonstrated potential to achieve a record, that meets AACSB criteria for Scholarly Practitioner (SP) or Scholarly Academic (SA) qualification.
