Description:
The Coordinator will manage the daily operations of Basic Needs initiatives and ensure smooth and efficient program execution. Responsibilities of this position include responding to inquiries, managing the budget and database, assisting with data collection, and coordinating related programs and activities. This role generates reports to support assessment and decision-making for initiatives as well as plays a key role in sustaining programs that address students' essential needs and overall well-being.
Duties:
- Coordinates programs and events supporting basic needs initiatives. Assists with outreach efforts and the collection and analysis of related data.
- Coordinates and participates in arrangements for special events and activities with faculty and staff campus wide.
- Coordinates Dean of Students (DOS) office marketing material development, in alignment with university branding guidelines and supports the overall operations of the DOS office.
- Supervises student staff working with basic needs.
- Prepares written reports to represent the department. Manages daily budget needs and compiles monthly financial reports.
- Works collaboratively with off-campus partners to ensure efficiency of basic needs initiatives and performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, or related field.
- Experience in one or more of the following: student services, student retention, or data management in a higher education environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education, Business, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, or related field.
- Experience working with college students.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of academic advising principles and college student development theories.
- Knowledge of student engagement practices.
- Knowledge of higher education platforms such as PeopleSoft, EAB/Navigate, etc.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficient in managing and maintaining a social media account.
- Must possess strong critical thinking, effective problem solving, and adaptability skills.
- Excellent oral/written communication, active listening, strong attention to detail, and effective strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, work collaboratively, and contribute effectively to a team.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply reports and data to inform programs and initiatives.
