Regular, Part-Time (50% FTE), Limited-Term (not to exceed twelve (12) months in duration from date of hire), RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the
Hawaii Positive Engagement Project, located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Telework (from employees residence
city and
state within Oahu) may be permissible subject to review and approval by Principal Investigator and RCUH. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
Delivers high-quality, culturally appropriate, strengths-based, and responsive workshops, trainings, and meetings for project participants (parents and their children), focused on interactive bookmaking, literacy, positive engagement, and well-being. Recruits project participants from different Native Hawaiian communities across the state. Collects and organizes data. Arranges event logistics. Sets up, manages, and breaks down equipment at in-person events. Follows up with parent participants on weekly assignments and progress. Communicates project information and messages with project participants in a culturally responsive, caring, and competent manner (phone, online, in-person).
Primary Qualifications
**EDUCATION**
Bachelors Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Education or related field.
**EXPERIENCE**
Five to seven (5-7) years of direct experience teaching literacy in an educational setting. Experience participating in or assisting the Hawaii Positive Engagement Project or similar well-being centered project. Experience working with Native Hawaiian parents and students in a strengths-based manner.
**KNOWLEDGE**
Knowledge of best practices for delivering high-quality, culturally appropriate, strengths-based, and responsive workshops, trainings, and meetings for project participants (parents and their children), focused on interactive bookmaking, literacy, positive engagement, and well-being.
**ABILITIES and SKILLS**
Strong ability to work independently, problem solve, meet deadlines, and complete high quality work in an organized manner with keen attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work independently, problem solve, meet deadlines, and complete high quality work in an organized manner with keen attention to detail. Ability to efficiently use Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, social media, and Microsoft Suite. Ability to maintain highest levels of professionalism and confidentiality. Ability to work at a computer throughout the day on a regular basis. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Ability to travel independently throughout the state of Hawaii. Must possess a valid drivers license (and if use of personal vehicle on the job is required, must also have valid personal drivers insurance equivalent to Hawaiis No-Fault Drivers Insurance) and maintain throughout the duration of employment.
Ability to effectively conduct work remotely (e.g., telework) as applicable.
Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.
