Assistant Professor, School of Education

The University of Evansville School of Education invites applications for a 10-month, non-tenure-track faculty position. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced educator to blend high-impact instruction with essential administrative and operational leadership. Key Responsibilities

This role requires a balance of instructional excellence and administrative oversight:

• Instruction & Advising: Teach core Education courses, provide academic advising, and mentor teacher candidates throughout their professional development.
• Clinical Supervision: Provide oversight and support for students in various clinical placements, ensuring alignment with best practices and state standards.
• Administrative Operations: Oversee critical program infrastructure, including partnership agreements, student background checks, and the coordination of clinical placements.
• Program Leadership: Direct the UE Reads program, ensuring its success and impact on the local community.
• Assessment & Compliance: Collaborate with the Department Chair to collect assessment data, complete required reports, and ensure compliance with accreditation and state licensure requirements.
• Departmental Service: Participate actively on key committees, including the School of Education Recruitment Committee and the SOE Advisory Board, to bolster recruitment, retention, and program effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

• Teaching Experience: Minimum of three years of successful, recent K–12 classroom teaching experience.
• Knowledge Base: Strong foundational knowledge of current Indiana Department of Education teacher licensure requirements, evidence-based instructional practices, and modern curricular expectations.
• Technical Proficiency: Excellent skills in technology and AI integration to support both instruction and administrative efficiency.
• Leadership Qualities: Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple complex responsibilities simultaneously.
• Communication: Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
