Position Summary:

The visionary and dynamic leader is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center, a synergistic hub at The University of Dayton that cultivates and provides comprehensive diversity and multicultural programming. The position champions engagement, belonging and student success. The Director of Strategic Belonging and Success Initiatives develops and executes strategies in the development of co- curricular experiences that support the academic, personal, social, and cultural transition and development of multiethnic students, with a particular emphasis on domestic racially/ethnically underrepresented students and, collaborating with campus partners to offer culturally relevant pedagogy and initiatives.



Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Student Affairs, Education, Cultural/Multicultural Studies, Social Sciences or Organizational Leadership, or related field.
Minimum of five years of direct experience working with culturally diverse students and campus wide program development.
Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Supervisory experience to professional staff.
Commitment to inclusive excellence that aligns to the University's Catholic and Marianist mission.



Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Master's degree in Student Affairs, Education, Cultural/Multicultural Studies.
Experience working in higher education .
Experience coaching, mentoring and developing students, faculty and staff.
Ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish.
