What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Sustainment Technician - CNC Programmer position at University of Dayton Research Institute?
Position Summary: This position is located at the Advanced Technology and Training Center (ATTC) in Warner Robins, GA and supports advanced manufacturing programs for Air Force sustainment activities. The position will serve as a principal CNC programmer for advanced manufacturing technologies, supporting additive manufacturing, additive repair and additive friction stir deposition technologies. The ideal candidate should be highly experienced in 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC programming with Mastercam. Responsibilities will include developing machining plans, CNC programming and machining of wrought and additively manufactured components and custom fixtures. Additionally, this position will also serve as mentor for junior or less experienced technicians. The majority of work will support government customers, but some industry partners may be supported as well. Minimum Qualifications:

- Minimum of 12 years of experience in computer numerical control (CNC) programming for metals (i.e. milling, turning, EDM, etc…)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience using Mastercam software to program CNC machining equipment to produce complex 3-axis aerospace parts and fixtures
- Minimum of 5 years of experience programming and operating 4th & 5th axis machines and/or a 5th axis trunnion
- Ability to create, read and interpret models, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills with team members at all levels
- Attention to detail
- Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.

- Experience working with friction stir welding or related technologies
- Experience programming and operating Haas CNC milling machines and lathes
- Experience creating part machining work plans or job packets
- Proficient in Solidworks and Mastercam
- Experience in jig and fixture design for CNC work holding
- Experience machining castings or additively manufactured parts
