Anticipated Salary Range:
The salary range for this position has been established for a 1.0 FTE at
$185,000 to $230,000.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.

Job Summary:

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide clinical coverage in a mixed shift model (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays) for the Urgent Care track only. Ability to cover shifts in all Urgent Care facilities is required. Clinical responsibilities include:
- Working days, evening, weekends, and holidays
- Jeopardy shifts (an internal physician coverage system for unanticipated absences)
- Clinical teaching of Medical Students, Family Practice Residents and Pediatric Residents
- Clinical Supervision and support of onboarding for Advanced Practice Providers
- Attendance and participation in required Section monthly meetings
- Participation in Quality Improvement and development of Clinical Care Guidelines
- Maintenance of skills required for provision of high quality, patient centered, safe urgent/emergent care of children. Annual requirements include but may not be limited to:
- Two half-day Acute Care Education sessions put on by the Section per academic year
- One high fidelity code simulation at the Simulation Center at CHCO and at least one code simulation at a local NOC site per academic year
- Maintenance of PALS certification
- Maintenance of CME relevant to clinical work
- Attend other technical seminars as deemed mandatory by the section and/or practice site in conjunction with input from the Director.

- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree
- Completed an accredited residency in Pediatrics or combined Medicine-Pediatrics
- Board Certified or eligible in Pediatrics
- Active certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Active Colorado Medical License
- Active Colorado State DEA license
- Two or more years' experience in pediatric acute care environment (OR completing a Pediatric Residency program with significant experience in Urgent Care and electives and/or extra-clinical activities that demonstrate clear interest in pediatric urgent care)
- Experience teaching medical students and residents
- POCUS trained
Knowledge:
- Advanced understanding of pediatric disease and injuries
- Understanding familiarity with resources to assist making clinical decisions and diagnosis.
- Use of electronic medical record (EPIC)
- Teaching of medical learners
- Initial interpretation of plain radiographs
- Laceration repair
- Minor Incision and drainage
- Nerve blocks
- Foreign body removal
- Reduction of minor digit fractures of joint dislocations
- Acute respiratory care
- ECG interpretation
- Medical Screening Exams
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, acute care environment for 8-10 hours at a time
- Ability to handle stressful situation with professional composure
