Key Responsibilities:
- Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and readies them for physicians: Takes vital signs, records medical history/symptoms, patient progress, physical exam, and any special tests as deemed appropriate by Provider.
- At the direction of the Provider: Performs patient education, calling in pharmacy refills, assisting with appointments, or arranging for follow-up tests or admissions.
- Completes appropriate forms and referral.
- Performs Clinic Preparation: Obtains all special study reports and physical therapy progress reports prior to physician visit; as needed, scans reports into Epic.
- Scrubs clinic schedule at least 48 hours prior, for scheduling errors; contacts patients to reschedule/obtain additional information.
- Assists in the provision of patient equipment and materials by obtaining insurance authorizations for products and supplies provided.

- Bachelor’s degree.

- Two to four (2-4) years of experience in an orthopedic/sports medicine setting, providing direct patient care OR the completion of a recognized AT residency program.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Five or more (5 ) years of experience in an orthopedic/sports medicine setting providing direct patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- One (1) year of experience in an orthopedic setting providing direct patient care.
- Experience working in conjunction with orthopedic/sports medicine physicians.
- Advanced Casting Technician certification.
- National Phlebotomy certification.
- Orthopedic Tech certified.
- Surgical Assistant certification.
- Athletic Training Residency-trained.
- Bilingual, Spanish-speaking.
- Epic, Kronos, and Healthstream experience.
- Certification by and in good standing with The Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer.
- Licensure with the State of Colorado as an Athletic Trainer.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross healthcare provider level CPR certification.
- Maintains all required licensure and certifications for the position.
- Must be able to work in-person.
- Must be able to travel to alternate locations as assigned.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
