Teaching experience and a promising research agenda are required. We are a dynamic group of teacher-scholars who place equal value on high-quality teaching and scholarship, including the scholarship of teaching and learning. Global, interdisciplinary, and rhetorical approaches welcome. The successful candidate will contribute new and existing undergraduate courses, including senior seminars, to the department. Ability to teach Chaucer and Shakespeare preferred. Interest in teaching in different modalities including online or hybrid preferred.

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching: Teaching a variety of core, elective, and advanced undergraduate courses in English.
- Research: Conducting original research in British texts and/or literature before 1660, including publishing and disseminating that research to relevant stakeholders.
- Service: Participating actively in department, college, and university service tasks and engaging in service to the profession.
- A PhD in English or closely related field is required by the start date of the position.
- Teaching experience at the college level is required.
- A promising research agenda is required.
- The ability to teach Chaucer and Shakespeare is preferred.
- Priority will be given to applications submitted by: December 5, 2025
- Potential interview dates: Starting the week of January 26, 2026.
- Potential start date: August 17, 2026.
