Job Summary

The Temporary Marketing Transition Manager will play a critical role in ensuring a successful transition of marketing, communications, and student recruitment functions from EMP to the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) Marketing and Communications team.

The temporary Marketing Transition Manager will be responsible for maintaining continuity of marketing operations while learning, documenting, organizing, and facilitating the transfer of key marketing responsibilities, processes, institutional knowledge, vendor relationships, and communication workflows. This position will work closely with the EMP Associate Director of Operations, EMP Director, CEAS Marketing and Communications staff, and EMP’s external marketing agency – Hybrid.

This role requires a self-directed marketing professional who can quickly understand complex operations, find opportunities for process improvement, and effectively train and transition responsibilities with minimal direction.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in preserving marketing continuity, supporting enrollment goals, and ensuring a smooth transfer of responsibilities that supports EMP's long-term sustainability.

The Engineering Management Program (EMP) is a technically-based management and leadership program for the engineering and technical fields that prepares students for early to mid-career positions in a variety of industries. It’s designed for students who are looking to advance in management, successfully contribute to the overall business or venture, and develop their leadership skills.

Responsibilities

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Marketing and Transition Leadership

  • Learn and gain working knowledge of all marketing, communications, recruitment, and business development activities currently managed by EMP.
  • Maintain ongoing marketing and communication efforts to ensure continuity during the transition period.
  • Inventory, document, and evaluate existing marketing strategies, campaigns, processes, technologies, timelines, vendor relationships, and communication workflows.
  • Develop comprehensive process documentation, training materials, procedures, checklists, and transition plans for the transfer of responsibilities to CEAS Marketing and Communications.
  • Work closely with CEAS Marketing and Communications staff to transfer institutional knowledge and provide training on EMP-specific marketing activities.
  • Find opportunities to streamline, centralize, or improve marketing processes during the transition.
  • Monitor ongoing marketing initiatives and ensure continuity of deliverables throughout the transition period.
  • Coordinate with external marketing agencies and vendors as needed to maintain campaign effectiveness and support knowledge transfer.
  • Maintain compliance with University of Colorado Boulder and CEAS branding, marketing, and communication standards.

Marketing Operations and Communications

Assist In Supporting And Transitioning Responsibilities Related To

  • Strategic marketing planning and execution.
  • Website content management and optimization.
  • Digital marketing campaigns.
  • Search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM).
  • Social media strategy and content development.
  • Email marketing and nurturing campaigns.
  • Marketing analytics and performance reporting.
  • Student recruitment and matriculation communications.
  • Content creation, storytelling, and promotional materials.
  • Coordination with internal and external collaborators.

Knowledge Transfer and Collaboration

  • Serve as a liaison between EMP and CEAS Marketing and Communications during the transition process.
  • Facilitate meetings, training sessions, and working sessions to ensure successful transfer of responsibilities.
  • Track transition landmarks and provide regular status updates to leadership.
  • Support additional transition-related projects and initiatives as assigned.

What We Can Offer

The pay range for this temporary position is $40.00-$45.00 per hour.

Benefits

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave .

What We Require

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 3 years of professional marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple marketing channels, campaigns, and projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external partners.

  • Ability to quickly assess business needs and implement effective solutions with minimal training or supervision.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • 5 years of progressively responsible marketing experience.
  • Experience developing and implementing integrated marketing strategies.
  • Experience leading marketing programs, managing agencies, or supervising complex marketing initiatives.
  • Experience in higher education, engineering, technology, or professional education marketing.
  • Experience with website content management systems, email marketing platforms, CRM systems, SEO, SEM, social media marketing, and marketing analytics.
  • Proven success managing organizational change, process improvement initiatives, or operational transitions.
  • Experience documenting processes, creating training materials, and conducting knowledge transfer activities.
