CU Boulder's Robotics Program ( https://www.colorado.edu/program/robotics/ ) is a new graduate program in the College of Engineering and Applied Science that was started in 2023. It is an interdisciplinary program that affiliates faculty from the Departments of Computer Science; Mechanical Engineering; Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering; and Aerospace Engineering Sciences. A total of 38 faculty members from the College instruct courses and advise graduate students as part of the Program. The final candidate for this opportunity will be hired into the Robotics Program and collaborate with the other faculty in the program to meet instructional needs.

Responsibilities
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- The typical distribution of work for this role is 80% teaching and 20% leadership and service.
- The selected candidate will be offered a multi-year contract which may be renewable; specific term length will vary based on start date.
- The anticipated start date for this position is Fall 2024, however a later start date may be negotiated.
- The anticipated salary range for this position at the Teaching Assistant Professor rank is $85,000-$95,000 academic year salary.
- Qualified candidates will be considered for Teaching Associate Professor rank. The anticipated range for this position at the Teaching Associate Professor rank is $95,000-$105,000. The full salary range is $85,000 - $105,000 dependent on rank.
- A relocation stipend is available within CEAS guidelines.

What We Require
- Candidate must have earned a doctorate in computer science, engineering, mathematics, the physical sciences, or a relevant related field or have their degree conferred before starting the appointment.
- For a candidate to be considered for appointment to the Teaching Associate Professor rank, the applicant must also have a minimum 6 years of teaching computer science, engineering, mathematics, the physical sciences, or a relevant field at a higher education level and meet unit criteria at this level.
- Candidates must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to teach and work in a highly collaborative environment. An understanding and appreciation for robotics fundamentals is necessary.
- Candidates should have prior teaching, research, and/or industry experience in robotics, computer science, mechanical engineering, or closely related fields.
- Candidates should be capable of teaching a wide range of undergraduate courses within the Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering departments. Candidates should also be capable of teaching core graduate courses as well as developing new graduate courses as part of the Robotics graduate program.
