The Division of Continuing Education (CE) at the University of Colorado, Boulder is seeking applications for a Recruitment and Admission Specialist - Online Programs! This position is responsible for proactively providing information and support, and for serving as a trusted resource to prospective online students, building relationships with inquirers to help them navigate the university’s online undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and other programs. This role will support recruiting and admissions functions for the fully online Post Baccalaureate Computer Science Program, along with other online programs, as required. Additinoally this position will develop and implement effective strategies for engaging with prospective online students/applicants to provide high-caliber information, support, and guidance as they explore CU Boulder’s online educational opportunities. Those filling this role must exercise significant self-direction in providing prospective students with enrollment support while collaborating with a variety of campus offices to ensure a positive, seamless experience. The ideal candidate should be familiar with online learning, nontraditional students, advising practices, recruitment and admission procedures, and financial aid and student billing operations.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Use knowledge of standard methodologies in andragogy, online education, recruiting, and student advising and support to develop and implement strategies for engaging prospective students as they assess the university's online offerings and their relevance to meeting personal and professional goals and objectives.
- Recommends, uses, and supports techniques and technologies that allow effective implementation of enrollment strategies, to include customer relationship management (CRM) systems, drip campaigns, communication templates, virtual open houses, and similar.
- In an effort to provide a better overall user experience, identifies and advocates for changes to policies and processes that impact the university's online programs and their prospective and enrolled students.
- Provide a full range of enrollment support for prospective online students, using both the incumbent's expert knowledge and other campus/CE resources. Serves as a lead resource, guide, or advisor on issues related to student recruiting, admissions, the student experience, and other aspects of enrollment support.
- Provide proactive and personalized engagement of prospective students, responding to queries about the university, academic programs in which the prospective student is interested, the academic school/department in which those programs are housed, and related programs of potential interest.
- Lead nurturing processes through email, phone, Zoom, remote and in-person visits, webinars, content, and social channels.
- Monitor and, as appropriate, replicate standard methodologies in online recruiting at peer institutions.
- Connect potential students to other academic and student support resources, as needed/appropriate.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge base of all online academic programs, with particular depth in assigned programs, and be facile at conveying this information to prospective students using sound enrollment strategies, tools, and techniques.
- Partner with other staff within CE and in associated academic units to resolve prospect and applicant concerns and ensure successful matriculation to the University.
- Recruit, follow-up and facilitate admission for students, from initial inquiry through enrollment.
- Help students understand their estimated cost of attendance and financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
- Develop ongoing relationships with key constituents, working collaboratively with the CE Marketing Team, Student Services, Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar’s Office, Bursar’s Office, the academic units offering online programs, and other campus/CE constituents to ensure a smooth transition for prospective students into the University.
- Identify prospective online students with barriers to entry and facilitate timely and effective interventions.
- Advise prospective students of the learning and technical skills and resources needed to succeed in online coursework.
- Guide prospective students to select degree programs that align with their career and academic goals and engage in conversations related to ideal fit.
- Connect applicants to training and resources that show them the career opportunities available for their degree selection.
- Work closely with program managers/advisors to matriculate and support new students seamlessly as they transition into their programs..
- Facilitate virtual Info Sessions, including leading sessions and managing content shared with students during the events.
- Assist program with application review and processing and tracking admission application progress.
- Attend CE and subunit meetings and engage in CE-wide committees.
- Regularly seek out and attend professional development opportunities, specific to supporting online students.
- The anticipated work schedule for this role is Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional irregular hours which include nights and weekends.
- The anticipated work modality for this position is hybrid, with 2-3 days/week in the office.
- Relocation assistance may be available per divisional guidelines.

What We Require
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to this position, or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
- Experience working in higher education in admissions, enrollment services, advising, financial aid, career services, or a closely related area.
- Knowledge of admissions, recruitment, advising, career development and financial aid practices in higher education.
- Proven ability to work as a team member and within a collaborative work environment.
- Experience working with online students and programs.
- Knowledge of the inquiry, decision-making, and commitment cycle of nontraditional students.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, including mastery of online presentation skills.
- Exceptional organizational, planning, analytical, and technical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proven ability to build and foster relationships with prospective students and other university staff who support them.
- Sensitivity to and appreciation of cultural, political, and geographical differences with ability to work well with faculty, staff, and students of a diverse group of backgrounds.
- 1 year of experience working in higher education in student recruitment, admissions or enrollment management role, student services professional position, preferably in a fully online setting.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in student affairs, counseling, learning technologies, or an area related to one of the online programs offered, preferably a technical or STEM- related field.
- Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a fully online setting.
- Proven results maintaining relationships with diverse internal and external partners.
- Experience working with a CRM (Salesforce & Slate).
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, supporting diverse clients/students.
- Experience developing online enrollment processes, support services and guidelines in online education.
