Job Summary
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to investigate fundamental problems in nanoscience, with an emphasis on structural characterization using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM). The project focuses on semiconductor nanocrystal–enzyme complexes to uncover how nanoscale structure influences interfacial electron transfer and photocatalytic function. Research activities may include cryo-EM sample preparation and imaging, advanced single-particle analysis, and structure–property studies of nanocrystal–enzyme interfaces. Responsibilities
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Conduct research on semiconductor nanocrystal–enzyme complexes and nanoscale optoelectronic materials.
- Design and perform cryo-EM experiments, including sample preparation, imaging, and single-particle analysis.
- Investigate structure–property relationships related to electron transfer, catalysis, and photocatalytic function.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to guide research direction and project goals.
- Prepare research reports, manuscripts, proposals, presentations, and related scientific communications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams and mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers.
- Develop innovative methods for studying nanocrystal–enzyme systems.

- Ph.D. in biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics, molecular biology, chemistry, physics, materials science, computational biology, or related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and interpersonal problem-solving skills

- This position is best suited for candidates with expertise in structural characterization of biomolecules by cryo-EM.
