Instructor - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Job Summary:

The Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center is an interdisciplinary clinical and research program for children adults with bleeding or clotting disorders. The person in this position has primary responsibility to implement the clinical care, case management and program coordination for patients with bleeding and clotting disorders. The position is 1.0 FTE.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide comprehensive clinical care to hemophilia, thrombosis, and stroke patients, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up.

* Conduct patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, clinical trial assessments, and review of diagnostic laboratory tests and imaging.

* Develop and manage individualized patient care plans based on clinical findings, medical history, and established clinical care guidelines.

* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, pharmacists, physical therapists, social workers, and other specialists to coordinate and optimize patient care.

* Provide patient and family education and support, including self-care instructions, phone triage, and education related to hemophilia, thrombosis, and thrombophilia.

* Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient data, including proficiency with EPIC and supporting data quality assurance and clinical program requirements.

* Participate in HTC outreach and professional activities, including regional and national meetings, remote clinics, camps, education days, community events, and in-service training for healthcare staff and students.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Current Certification as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Colorado License with prescriptive writing capability

Preferred Qualifications:

* Two (2) or more years of general clinical experience.

* Two (2) or more years of hematology clinical experience.

* Experience with clinical research.

• Familiar with point of care ultrasound

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Skills in working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with a medical, psychosocial and administrative team to facilitate and develop patient treatment plans.

* Experienced caring for both pediatric and adult populations.

* Working knowledge of caring for patients with chronic conditions.

* Professional demeanor and experience that demonstrates problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.

* Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to take direction.

* Applicants will possess the qualities of being detail-oriented, self-motivated and a fast learner with good time management skills.

* Proficient in electronic medical records systems.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$97,000-112,000.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
