Position Summary:
The Annual Fund Manager has overall responsibility for the organization, planning and management of the University’s program to seek annual gifts from alumni, parents, friends, corporations, and foundations. UC’s annual giving program raises over $2 million annually.
The Annual Fund Manager reports to the Vice President for University Development. Applicants must possess strong human relations, public speaking, writing and motivational skills and the ability to work well with an established team.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop overall short- and long-range plans for annual giving, set goals, and manage the budget for all annual giving activities.
- Create all the component parts relating to annual giving and supervise the implementation and distribution of such plans and materials.
- Organize and manage all aspects and segments of annual giving including: direct mail, online giving and personal visits.
- Recruit, oversee and motivate all volunteers and their activities as they relate to annual giving, and maintain timely communication with those volunteers.
- Personally solicit leadership gifts from key volunteers and selected prospects.
- Work in concert with other advancement staff to plan and implement special events.
- Manage a reporting system to provide analysis of the effectiveness of the program on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Responsible for gift records and acknowledge process of gifts including direct supervision of Gift Processing Specialist.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess strong human relations, public speaking, writing and motivational skills and the ability to work well with an established team.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2-4 years of related experience with donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising
- Excellent written and oral communication skills that are effective with a diverse range of audiences including board members, faculty and staff donors, alumni and potential and current donors.
- Prior experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred.
- Grant writing experience preferred from private and family foundations.
- Solid working knowledge of SharePoint and MS Office 365 and an overall aptitude with office technology and software.
- Highly organized and detail-driven with strong time management skills
