Description
The Student Front Desk Worker (Student Worker) reports to the Department of Human Services Social Work Program to Carolyn Corson, Student Worker Supervisor, and to Dr. Ryan Peterson, Department Chair. The Student Worker will manage the front desk, monitor access to the Social Work Student Computer Lab, perform office tasks as required, such as copying/printing, laminating, shredding, monitor the printer and printing supplies, lock and unlock doors, distribute incoming mail and packages to faculty of all programs within the department, and perform other duties that may arise.
Examples of Duties
Duties Include:
- Manage the front desk, greet faculty, students, and visitors
- Monitor access to the Social Work Student Computer Lab
- Print, copy, scan, laminate, and shred documents
- Monitor the printer to be fully stocked with paper and other supplies, lock and unlock doors when needed
- Assist instructors with designing and preparing pamphlets, event programs, notices, and other types of documents
- Change content in hallway display cases and bulletin boards
- Monitor student test-taking; and perform other duties as necessary.
Typical Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience is preferred but not required in the use of Microsoft Office products, customer service, and holding a previous job of any type or duration in which the applicant was reliable and promptly adhered to work shift schedules.
Supplemental Information
Working Hours:
- Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, not to interfere with class schedules
- No more than 20 hours per week
