Description
Due to the specific responsibilities of the worker, we must require that this person is pursuing a degree in or holds an undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology.
Examples of Duties
Duties Include:
- Tracking and posting clinician vaccination status. Notifying clinicians & supervisors if clinicians are "due" for boosters, series, or annual vaccinations.
- Create the schedule for evaluations in the schedule book for the front desk.
- Assimilate, coordinate, and initiate client intake forms case histories and diagnostic appointments. Prepare clients for appointments by sending out release forms, parking passes, maps, and appointment reminder cards.
- Assist the Coordinator of Clinical Services with any scheduling or clinic maintenance issues that are related to responsibilities for clinical teaching.
- Verify clinician's "Clinical Clock Hours".
- Research 4 tests which will be presented to students in Assessment & Intervention courses.
- Present tests- applications, protocols, & administration to the class.
- Create 4 "pseudo-clients" for the students to administer each test to.
- Have students administer a standardized diagnostic test, and retest until student is proficient.
- Score the students administration.
- Provide grades and progress reports to the class instructor.
- Monitor testing protocols and reorder if there are not enough on hand for clinic use.
Typical Qualifications
Education:
- Pursuing a degree in Communication Disorders
- Currently enrolled in the undergraduate program in Communication Disorders
Supplemental Information
Working Hours:
- Based on assignment, no more than 20 hours per week
