Position Summary:
The Shuttle Bus Driver is responsible for the operation of a 16 passenger vans and large passenger motor carriers, transporting passengers to specific destinations on campus and outside of general area. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
This is a weather event essential position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Transport students and UCA groups to destinations on campus during daily shuttle route. Transport students and UCA groups to scheduled destinations/events outside of campus. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have valid CDL with passenger endorsement. Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of commercial passenger transportation vehicles such as coach buses, school buses, etc. Knowledge of federal and state traffic laws and regulations. Knowledge of basic travel requirements and restrictions. Ability to plan and schedule travel routes. Ability to perform minor maintenance and safety checks of transportation vehicle and equipment. Ability to perform routine tasks and to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work independently without close supervision and to make sure tasks are completed.

Required Education and/or Experience:
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma. Must have a Commercial Drivers License with passenger endorsement and two years of experience in commercial passenger transportation. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Experience with large coach buses, school buses, or other 16 passenger vehicles.
