Job DescriptionThis Staff/Sr or Principal CT Technologist must demonstrate the ability to perform CT exams in both the inpatient and outpatient environment, be able to work safely in an acute care setting and be able to interact accordingly with anesthesia and other patient care departments that visit the CT environment. Additionally, the Sr or Principal CT Technologist must participate with the training of students and new hires when necessary.Â
Performs various radiographic exams and processes images on various archival systems. Professionally accountable for submitting high-quality images to PACS. Participates in performance improvement activities in the department. Demonstrates excellent customer service to patients. Correctly identifies patients for the procedures performed. Follows Infection Control policies, radiation policies and good body mechanics. Maintains appropriate continuing education credits. Complies with all Medical Center and Department policies and procedures.Â
Qualifications Required for all Classification Levels (Staff / Senior / Principal): - Graduate of a JCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology training program. - Previous experience in a healthcare environment required (typically 2â5 years). - Flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to rotate shifts and provide weekend and holiday coverage. - Willingness to work at any UCSF Medical Center location as needed. - Required for Sr. classification level: Minimum of three (3) years of experience practicing in the applicable modality within an acute care setting. - Required for Principal classification level: Minimum of seven (7) years of experience practicing in the applicable modality within an acute care setting. - Required for Sr. and Principal classification level:- Teaching and leadership experience, including Lead/Coordinator participation and the demonstrated ability to effectively teach both basic and advanced procedures - Active participation in mentoring new employees and students (excluding Per Diem staff).
