Job DescriptionThe Interventional Cardiology Hold Room Nurse will play a vital role in providing safe, high-quality pre- and post-procedural care to adult patients undergoing Cardiac Catheterization and Cardiac Electrophysiology procedures. Utilizing the nursing process, this individual will contribute to the interdisciplinary team, ensuring effective patient care delivery across various areas of the department.
Department Description The UCSF Cath/EP Lab is a high-acuity, fast-paced procedural area supporting a full spectrum of cardiac interventions. We currently perform: ? Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations ? Electrophysiology (EP) studies and ablations ? Device implantation (pacemakers, ICDs, CRTs ? Structural Heart Procedures (including TAVR, Mitra Clip, Tri-Clip, PFO/ASD closure, etc.) ? STEMI receiving and emergent interventions. In support of these complex cardiovascular procedures, the following key roles are defined. The Rad Tech Principle and Clinical Nurse II are integral to the success of our Cath/EP Lab and the high level of cardiovascular care provided at UCSF. These positions require exceptional teamwork, advanced clinical knowledge, and a commitment to patient-centered care. Qualifications Required Qualifications: - Two years nursing experience in Cardiovascular ICU or two years equivalent high-acuity cardiovascular experience (eg, Cardiac Cath Lab/EP Lab/ED/cardiac focus) - Minimum 1 year experience in pre-post recovery of Adult Cardiac Cath/EP patients - Previous moderate sedation experience - Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work independently and under pressure. - Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge. - This position requires flexibility to orient and work in all areas of the Cath/EP/Holding areas - This position requires participation in on-call/late stay - This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
