Job DescriptionUnder general supervision, guided by the policies and procedures of the Center for Reproductive Health and Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with the physician staff, the Registered Nurse performs established nursing procedures using clinical knowledge to care for patients. Â The RN collaborates with the physician in providing excellent clinical care to the reproductive health patients. Â S/he consistently projects a professional and courteous demeanor. Â The RN demonstrates competence in the management of patient flow and daily peri-operative operations. Â The RN shall comply with the medical center house and telephone standards. Â S/he provides expert nursing care to the patients receiving assisted and non-assisted reproductive techniques. Â These duties include patient instruction and discharge teaching; charting and documenting in appropriate records; administering and monitoring medications; assisting with procedures; communicating all patient scheduling needs with practice staff; and coordinating patient care between the various practice teams. Â S/he will assess patient needs and in collaboration with the physiciansâ plan interventions; evaluate patient response to treatments; admit, recover and discharge patients. Â The RN will work collaboratively with the HA staff, anesthesiologists, MDs, RNs and embryology team: and participate in the EMR/APEX process. Â Â
The Registered Nurse will assess health needs and perform functions specific to unassisted and assisted reproductive techniques as well as andrology, gynecological treatment patients, and male Urology patients. S/he will assess patient needs, then plan, evaluate and participate in care for patients/couples. S/he will utilize specialized knowledge and skills for evaluation and teaching within this patient population and may act as a resource person within the organization and/or community. S/he will consistently project a professional and courteous demeanor. The Registered Nurse shall comply with the Medical Center house and telephone standards. Registered Nurse will: set-up for and assist physician with Oocyte Retrieval, Ultrasound Guided Embryo Transfer, Hysteroscopy, Manual Uterine Aspiration and Cyst Aspiration; set up and assist with male Urology procedures as needed including providing IV conscious sedation; check in patient, obtain vital signs, obtain IV access and complete preoperative nursing assessment. In addition, other duties include medication scheduling, prescription management; coordination of patientâs treatment cycle, education, and support throughout the continuum of care; and will provide accurate and safe postoperative care.
Qualifications Required Qualifications: - Two years RN clinical experience - Two years RN fertility experience - Active RN licensure in the State of California - Active American Heart Association CPR Certification - Active ACLS Certification - Successfully completes the Moderate Sedation Module - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment, detail-oriented, flexible, and have excellent communication skills - Strong leadership skills - Computer skills Preferred Qualifications: - Ambulatory experience - OBGYN experience - APEX/EMR experience - Sedation narrator experience - REI experience License/Certifications: - Active RN licensure in the State of California - Active American Heart Association CPR Certification - Active ACLS Certification License / Certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Registered NurseAdditional Details
