Job DescriptionUnder general supervision, guided by the policies and procedures of the department of nursing, and in collaboration with the physician staff, the Clinical Nurse performs established nursing procedures using clinical knowledge to care for patients.  They consistently project a professional and courteous demeanor in line with UCSFâs PRIDE standards. The Clinical Nurse shall comply with the Medical Center Communication Standards. Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe therapeutic care.
Qualifications Required Qualifications: - A minimum of two (2) years recent clinical inpatient hemodialysis experience - The motivation to become a participant on a team dedicated to effective, safe patient care. - Ability to communicate effectively with patients and families - Provide on-call coverage to meet clinical needs of the medical center as scheduled in a fairly distributed manner. - This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations including Mission Bay, Mount Zion, Parnassus, St. Maryâs and St. Francis Hospitals. Preferred Qualifications: - Hemodialysis and apheresis experience - Specialty certification in nephrology or apheresis (CDN, CNN, CNN-NP, QIA) - General computer literacy and basic familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Epic EMR Licenses/Certifications: - Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of CA - Current American Heart Association CPR Certification. - Current American Heart Association PALS or ACLS Certification (career staff) - Telemetry certification or successful completion of an exam in interpreting cardiac rhythms upon hire License / Certification Registered Nurse About UCSF The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care.
