Job DescriptionJoin our amazing team of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners at UCSF Health, where you will serve patients directly within the Emergency Department and the inpatient setting!Â
The psychiatric nurse practitioners will be performing evaluations, placing and releasing legal holds, serving in both consultative and direct patient care roles. Evaluating the need for inpatient hospitalization and assisting with dispositioning and after-care needs.
Qualifications Requirements: Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing-approved or verified school of nursing with a masterâs degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). - One (1) year of clinical experience as an NP in the same specialty and setting - Active Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within two months of hire Preferred Qualifications: - Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner experience in an Emergency Medicine setting, urgent care, or crisis stabilization unit License/Certifications: 1. California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction 2. California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction 3. California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number including Schedule II furnishing privileges 4. NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role Psychiatric and Mental Health Care (PMHNP-BC). 5. California Driver License (if required for position) 6. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address 7. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 8. Additional required AHA certifications: None additional to BLS 9.
