Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $101,300 - $216,700 (Annual Rate).

- Master's degree in Social Work
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- 5 years post-Masters experience as a Medical Social Worker in a pediatric healthcare setting. 2 or more years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise a team and manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with social work services.
- Strong knowledge of social work services, and familiarity with case management, utilization review, discharge planning, home care, and / or managed care.
- Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources matters and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with all levels of management and staff across clinical disciplines.
- Knowledge of applicable business software and specialized applications and data management systems.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills to structure unit operations and lead assigned staff in an efficient and effective manner
- Advanced clinical skills with practical knowledge of social work theories, principles and techniques; Federal, State and local laws, health care setting rules and regulations.
