UCSFâs Enterprise Strategy & Transformation (EST) seeks an exceptional professional to join our highly skilled and engaged team providing internal consulting services to our dynamic, mission-driven institution. The Organizational Development Manager leads a team of consultants providing expert coaching, training, and consulting on Lean continuous improvement implementation, in addition to strategic planning, project management, and change management. The EST staff enjoy challenging and impactful project work, professional development opportunities, and an engaging hybrid work environment.
The EST Managing Consultant is a key leader in the EST and provides consulting services directly to clients in addition to managing a team of consultants. Key responsibilities include:Â
â¢Â         Provide leadership for our Lean continuous improvement program, working with leaders and staff to advance our culture of continuous improvement
â¢Â         Provide consulting to our internal clients, utilizing skills in project management, group facilitation, and change management to help clients achieve their goals.
â¢Â         Work with our internal clients to understand their needs and goals, and to plan EST engagements to achieve the desired outcomes.
â¢Â         Manage professional-level staff and projects; assume responsibility for the quality of work produced by organizational consultant staff.
â¢Â         Establish objectives and determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provide guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established organization policies.
â¢Â         Participate as a member of the EST leadership team. Assist with establishing goals, objectives, and practices in support of organizational effectiveness.
Department Overview:
UCSFâs Enterprise Strategy and Transformation (EST) is an internal business advisory unit of skilled professionals who provide consulting services to UCSF Enterprise. The EST works with central leaders, the schools, and department staff to implement both campus-wide and unit-specific operational improvements. The EST consulting services include strategic planning, business process improvement, systems implementations and organizational restructuring. The EST provides these services leveraging skills in project management, group facilitation, change management, and Lean transformation. EST staff possess sound strategic thinking and consulting skills that guide the organization towards collaboratively identified, workable solutions.Â
Qualifications Required Qualification: - Bachelor's degree in Organizational Change, Business Administration or related area and 10 years relevant experience and / or equivalent experience / training. - Thorough knowledge of the management consulting field, theories, models to assess, design and implement customized organizational interventions. Demonstrates superior strategic- thinking and consulting skills in guiding the organization toward workable strategies and solutions. - Demonstrates leadership and management skills required to lead subordinates, in the areas of - staff performance and development, team building and communications, resolution of issues and conflicts, review and approval of work, and hiring and training employees. - Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of diplomacy, influential and interpersonal skills to work effectively across the organization at all levels. - Able to interpret and communicate, both verbally and in writing, complex information in a clear - and concise manner. Have superior written, verbal and presentation skills for influencing and facilitating sustained change. - Ability to effectively lead highly significant engagements from inception to conclusion. Ability to conceptualize projects, write proposals and draft project plans and budgets. Advanced knowledge of project management principals, theories and concepts. - Demonstrates ability to learn quickly, reason, synthesize and generalize based on information obtained. Sound judgment, ability to draw unbiased conclusions. - Ability to establish and manage project governance groups.
