Pay Rate/Range: The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $119,400 to $160,000/year. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is $119,400 to $230,800/year.

Brief Summary of Job Duties:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience and training
- 5 years experience in multi-million-dollar budget management, long-range financial planning, cash flow analysis, and scenario modeling.
- 5 years experience establishing and maintaining strong internal controls, financial policies, and compliance frameworks within a regulated or public-sector environment.
- 5 years experience leading through managers and directors, with a strong record of building accountability, clarity of roles, and high-performing teams.
- 5 years demonstrated experience of advanced analytical, forecasting, and decision-support skills, including use of financial and marketing performance metrics.
- 5 years demonstrated experience of communication skills with the ability to effectively advise executive leadership and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- 5 years of proven success in the successful conception, implementation, and evaluation of strategies to achieve organizational goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in higher education, arts organizations, cultural institutions, or other complex, mission-driven enterprises.
- Familiarity with self-supporting or auxiliary enterprises within a public university setting.
- 5 years of demonstrated experience integrating marketing strategy with financial planning to drive sustainable revenue growth.
- 3 years of experience serving as a key financial advisor to executive leadership, with a strong record of translating complex financial data into actionable strategic recommendations.
- 3 years of demonstrated success in high-level interpersonal communication and political acumen to communicate and collaborate adeptly with a variety of professionals and public officials
- 3 years of demonstrated advanced knowledge of the arts, lectures and special events presenting field and UCSB A&L's achievements, mission, goals, vision, infrastructure, products and services

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:
Marketing Management (50%): Provide executive leadership for Arts & Lectures’ marketing, communications, audience development, and brand strategy across all program areas. Manage earned revenue strategy, including ticket sales, pricing models, subscription strategy, dynamic pricing, and demand forecasting, in collaboration with the Executive Director, Senior Deputy Director, and Director of Marketing. Provide executive management of ticket office operations, ensuring effective systems, staffing, customer experience, PCI compliance, and revenue reporting. Supervise the Marketing Director, who oversees the Marketing Manager and related staff; set strategic goals, performance metrics, and accountability standards without direct involvement in day-to-day execution. Establish organization-wide marketing goals and key performance indicators; review and interpret revenue, attendance, and engagement data to inform strategic decisions. Ensure consistent application and stewardship of the Arts & Lectures brand across all platforms and public-facing channels. Partner with Development leadership to align marketing strategy with fundraising priorities and donor engagement, while maintaining appropriate functional separation. Represent Arts & Lectures at high-level public events, donor engagements, and institutional meetings as appropriate.
Finance & Business Operations Management (50%): Provide executive management of Arts & Lectures’ financial, human resources, and business operations functions, ensuring strong stewardship of institutional resources. Supervise and support the Finance & HR Manager and Business Operations Manager, directing strategy, systems, and policy. Manage the development, monitoring, and analysis of the organization’s annual operating budget (exceeding $10 million), forecasts, and long-range financial plans. Review financial reports, projections, and risk assessments; advise the Executive Director on financial performance, sustainability, and risk mitigation. Ensure effective internal controls, audit readiness, compliance with UC, State, and Federal policies, and sound financial and business practices. Provide strategic management of human resources functions, including workforce planning, position management, performance management frameworks, and professional development systems. Manage business systems and administrative infrastructure supporting finance, HR, procurement, contracts workflow, IT coordination, and facilities planning. Serve as a senior liaison to campus partners and external entities on matters related to finance, administration, and business operations.
