What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner Gynecologic Oncology & Surgery MB position at University of California - San Francisco?
The Outpatient Nurse Practitioner (NP) will develop our Gynecologic Oncology Survivorship Clinic at UCSF. This role is designed to deliver comprehensive survivorship care to patients with a history of gynecologic cancers, focusing on long-term follow-up, surveillance for recurrence or new malignancies, management of treatment-related effects, and promotion of overall wellness and quality of life. The ideal candidate will serve as a key member of an interdisciplinary Gyn Onc team committed to evidence-based, patient-centered survivorship care. The NP functions independently and in collaboration with attending physicians, fellows, residents, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other members of the care team.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing approved or verified school of nursing with a master's degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
- One (1) plus years of Nurse Practitioner experience in an ambulatory oncology or women's health specialty
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of Nurse Practitioner experience in gynecologic oncology, women's health
- AOCNP Certification
- Proficiency in performing gynecologic-focused exams and managing chronic or treatment-related conditions
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
License/Certification :
1. California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction
2. California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction
3. California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number including Schedule II furnishing privileges
4. NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role
Adult Outpatient Certifications:
* A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC
5. California Driver License (if required for position)
6. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address
7. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
8. Additional required AHA certifications: None additional to BLS
9. Additional required certifications (such as ENLS): none (enter none, if no additional certifications are required)
UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
