What are the responsibilities and job description for the Breast Surgical Oncology Nurse Practitioner position at University of California - San Francisco?
Under the supervision of the UCSF Department of Surgery & Department of Medicine and guided by the policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and bylaws of the UCSF Medical Center, some Nursing Policies, and, Medical Staff Policies, and any unique to inpatient or ambulatory patient services (for those APPs providing services both in the inpatient and ambulatory environments) this Nurse Practitioner (NP) position is assigned to the Berkeley Cancer Outpatient Practice. This APP position may perform delegated functions as appropriate to their "scope of practice". In general, the "scope of practice" includes the management of chronic stable medical conditions, specialty protocols (e.g. chemotherapy), routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures. This position will provide outpatient care in approved age groups at UCSF Health settings. The APP has responsibility for the quality of standards of care for a specified patient population and evidence self-direction and accountability in the development of this role within all UCSF medical center locations. UCSF Health requires all Advanced Practice Providers (APP) to be credentialed through its Medical Staff Services Office (MSSO) in order to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric APPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Health sites (Parnassus, Mt. Zion, Satellite Clinics, etc.). Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures take 30-60 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.

Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing approved or verified school of nursing with a master's degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
- Two (2) years of recent experience or more related NP experience in breast surgical oncology
- Triage experience
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations and in varying schedules as outlined
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in clinical database entry
- Familiar with Epic/Apex electronic charting system
- Experience in Breast Plastic Surgery
- Experience in Adult Oncology Practice
License/Certification :
1. California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction
2. California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction
3. California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number including Schedule II furnishing privileges
4. NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role
Adult Outpatient Certifications:
* A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC
5. California Driver License (if required for position)
6. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address
7. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
8. Additional required AHA certifications: None additional to BLS
9. Additional required certifications (such as ENLS): none (enter none, if no additional certifications are required)

In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day.
