Job Summary
Academic Human Resources Analyst 3 is a seasoned experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of UC, campus, and unit academic practices, policies, and procedures, resolves moderate to complex academic personnel & HR-related issues affecting a broad range of academic titles in imaginative and practical ways. The individual will be the primary academic contact for a set of client departments
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $88,600 - $132,900 (Annual Rate).

Department Description
The Office of the Vice Provost-Academic Affairs (VPAA) and Faculty Development and Advancement facilitates the recruitment, development, mentoring, and retention of the highest-caliber diverse faculty. The Office provides leadership, training, and guidance in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to academic personnel. The Office is committed to improving the work life and academic environment for faculty to support innovative and collaborative approaches for education, research and health care at UCSF. As of October 2018, there were approximately 3400 faculty, 900 non-faculty academics, and 3000 volunteer clinical professors appointed at UCSF.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience
- 3 years of experience in UC, other university Academic Personnel services or related experience with high level HR activities and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to apply/interpret system wide and campus policies and procedures which govern academic personnel & HR
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audience both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated skill in prioritizing competing work assignments and integrating information to determine appropriate courses of action and their implications
Preferred Qualifications
- Has a strong understanding of compensation policies, CBA, and procedures governing academic employees and health sciences compensation plans for client schools/departments, funding requirements and implications for academic and postdoc employees
