The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking applicants for a full-time, Postdoctoral position. The candidate will conduct research on bacterial genomics and host immune response to infection in the context of developing novel, low-cost diagnostics for sexually transmitted pathogens. Preferred qualifications: Familiar with techniques such as multi-color flow cytometry and/or mass cytometry, DNA sequencing, sterile technique for bacterial culture with BSL-2 practices, ELISA, and qRT-PCR. Bioinformatics knowledge is preferred but is not required. Experience in bacteriology research is preferred but not required. The candidate should be comfortable working with BSL2 biospecimens including (cells, plasma, urine, mucosal swabs, saliva) from patients with sexually transmitted infections and HIV. A Ph.D. is required.

A Ph.D. is required.
