Salary & Compensation

Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications
- Basic knowledge in the following areas: First Aid / CPR, campus streets, buildings, and parking lots, general law enforcement procedures, vehicle laws, use of firearms. (Preferred)
- Observes situations analytically, impartially, and objectively, and to record pertinent information accurately and completely. (Required)
- Demonstrated verbal and written skills and the ability to interact with a diverse community. (Required)
- Possess a valid California Driver's License (Required)
- Must complete an accredited CA Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certified police academy and obtain certification as a police officer. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
- High School Diploma or equivalent certification (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
Special Conditions for Employment
- Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
- Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
- Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
- Pre-Placement Physical: Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory physical examination.
- Driving Record: The position is subject to the California DMV "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
- Reading Comprehension Test: A reading assessment will be conducted.
- CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
- Clery Act: The position is a designated CSA (Campus Security Authority) under Clery Act requirements.
