Provides support to clinical users through knowledge of clinical processes, documentation needs, workflows, and clinical practice standards, adapting software configurations to meet their needs. Works with clinicians to create or update written protocols. Prepares detailed specs encompassing clinical processes, information flow, risk, and impact analysis. Provides customer service, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Performs data analysis and reporting as needed to support SHCS clinical and business functions. This position is responsible for critically important data file transfers to insurance carriers and to Banner, the campus Student Information System.

Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) provides primary care, mental health, acute care, laboratory, pharmacy, health education and counseling services to registered UC Davis students. SHCS serves approximately 300 patients per day during the school year. The mission is to provide campus health and wellness resources that enable students to successfully achieve their academic goals and life-long wellness. SHCS has approximately 200 staff including managers, senior professionals, professional and support staff, student employees, interns and post doc residents. SHCS is accredited by AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care), and IACS (International Association for Counseling Services). Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent combination of education and experience in relatable field.
- Experience with HIPAA, FERPA and other applicable federal and state medical information confidentiality and security requirements.
- Computer skills to work across a multi-platform environment (Linux, Mac, and Windows) using databases, spreadsheets, word processing, email and web browsers.
- Ability to write sql queries, translate business requirements into technical reports, explain findings to non-technical stakeholds, reconciling report outputs against source systems, with strong data visualization and dashboard design skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively, train, support, and work collaboratively with users of clinical information systems at all professional and technical levels.
- Strong problem-resolution skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to convey technical information and instructions to all levels of clinical applications users in a specific, clear, and concise manner.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge in documentation and reporting, with the ability to design and execute tests, analyze system performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses.
- Experience working with multiple data sources to reconcile records and processes across various database systems; skills to recognize actual from potential data problems.
