Departmental Overview

UC Berkeley's University Health Services (UHS) is a comprehensive college health service providing fully accredited, primary medical care, counseling and psychological services, and innovative health promotion programs for students, faculty, and staff. UHS provides on-campus medical care and coordinates supplemental needs for off-campus care through a network of community specialists and hospitals. UHS manages the student health insurance and workers' compensation insurance programs.

Approximately 65,000 visits occur annually including Primary Care, Urgent Care, Occupational Health and Specialty Clinics. Services are designed to minimize the impact of illness, emotional distress and injury on studies and work. The Social Services (SOS) unit offers short-term counseling, groups, case management and nutrition services to the campus student population. Counseling staff consists of social workers who provide compassionate specialty counseling on a range of specific and highly sensitive topics. Responsibilities

Performs comprehensive neuropsychological assessments and evaluation of cases with moderate to high complexity and cases that may or may not be pre-screened for the purposes of differential diagnosis and treatment planning. Also provides individual and/or group counseling.
Receives regular feedback on clinical and assessment techniques employed on assigned cases.
Assessments will be conducted to better understand diverse processes (e.g., intelligence, academic ability, attention, concentration, sensory-motor function, language, learning, and memory), and diverse cultural, and ethnic populations with intersecting identities.
Provide brief interventions to students including (but not limited to) those with learning disabilities, ADHD, cognitive impairments, and neurodiverse learning and communication styles.
Provides training and supervision on psychological assessment to practicum students, predoctoral interns, and postdoctoral fellows.
Provides, leadership, guidance, and support to staff psychologists on the assessment team Lead psychological assessment programming for students at UC Berkeley Mental Health Services.
Develops specialized programs, goals and objectives for unit(s), and / or specific clinical program(s).
Design and/or implement rehabilitation plans for students with cognitive dysfunction.
Assess students' progress before and after pharmacologic, surgical, or behavioral interventions.
Serves as a member on various committees on issues of significance to the University.
As technical leader, performs evaluation, diagnosis, and psychotherapy for the most difficult and complex cases.
Serves as program coordinator, establishing and managing standards and other related functions for lower level professional Counseling Psychologists.
Participate in educational programs, in-service training, or workshops for continuing professional development.
Required Qualifications

Skills associated with program development and implementation.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with diverse client group, medical staff, and faculty.
Ability to conduct the most complex analysis, develop and present recommendations, findings, and determine appropriate course of treatment.
Experience assessing and treating adolescents and/or young adults.
3-5 years of experience specializing in neuropsychological assessment.
Written and verbal fluency in English.

Education/Training:
Doctorate in clinical psychology or counseling, postdoctoral work required.
Ph.D. or a Psy.D in clinical psychology, school psychology, or counseling psychology from an APA and/or CPA accredited program, including internship training.
Current, valid license in California as a psychologist. Out-of-state licensed psychologists have 180 days to complete licensure requirements in the State of California.
Preferred Qualifications

Advanced knowledge associated with conducting evaluation, diagnosis and psychotherapy services.
Post-Doctoral Fellowship focused on psychological assessment preferred.
Advanced knowledge of laws and ethical standards.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced skills associated with conducting the most complex diagnosis, problem-solving and critical-thinking.
Post-Doctoral Fellowship focused on psychological assessment preferred.
Experience leading and participating in interdisciplinary teams preferred.
Experience working in diverse post-secondary populations preferred.
Fluency in Spanish or Mandarin is considered an asset.
Salary & Benefits

This is a full-time (40 hours/week), career position, and eligible for full UC benefits.
This is an exempt, monthly paid position. The annual salary is commensurate with experience within the range of $91,400-$131,100.
