The Major Gift Officer will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors, with a primary focus on individuals capable of making six- and seven-figure gifts, with a focus on the greater New York area.

Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and advance a robust portfolio of major gift prospects and donors
- Cultivate authentic, long-term relationships through thoughtful, sophisticated engagement, including frequent meetings by phone, Zoom, and in person
- Develop and execute individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies leading to successful gift closures
- Steward donors to deepen engagement and encourage sustained and increased giving
- Travel regularly (at least 35% of time) to meet with donors and prospects
- Plan and execute donor cultivation events
- Partner closely with Development colleagues to develop donor events, proposals, briefing materials, and other donor collateral
- Substantive experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, sales, business development, strategic partnerships, investor relations or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising and relationship-based solicitation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt strategies in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- High level of initiative, organization, and follow-through
- Strong alignment with UATX’s mission and an entrepreneurial, institution-building mindset
