Summary of Job Duties:

We are seeking a dynamic Program Technician with a focus on leadership to join our team. This position will primarily support the coordination, administration, and delivery of the Ag-tech Career Exploration (ACE) program and the Experiential Scholars Program (ESP), with additional support for other leadership-related initiatives within the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service. The Program Technician will assist with program planning, participant communication, logistics, records management, reporting, evaluation, and event support. A secondary component of the role will include marketing and communications support, such as social media, publications, and website updates for leadership programs.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and help manage the day-to-day operations of the Ag-tech Career Exploration (ACE) program and the Experiential Scholars Program (ESP).

  • Support recruitment, application processing, participant communication, scheduling, and recordkeeping for ACE and ESP.

  • Assist with planning and coordinating seminars, workshops, meetings, travel, and other program activities related to ACE, ESP, and other leadership programs.

  • Prepare program materials, participant resources, correspondence, and reports for ACE and ESP activities.

  • Track program participation, maintain program files and databases, and assist with required documentation and reporting.


Job Description:

  • Prepare and administer program evaluations to assess effectiveness and gather participant feedback for ACE, ESP, and related leadership initiatives.

  • Provide logistical and onsite support for seminars, meetings, student activities, and special events.

  • Collaborate with team members, faculty, staff, and external partners to support overall program goals and participant success.

  • Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies to support all leadership programs.

  • Manage social media platforms, create engaging content, and monitor online presence for leadership-related programs.

  • Design and produce publications such as newsletters, brochures, promotional materials, and reports.

  • Update and maintain websites related to leadership programs, ensuring content accuracy and relevance.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Leadership, Education, Marketing, Public Relations, Agricultural Education, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in program coordination, education, student support, event planning, or administrative support preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to create clear, professional correspondence and program materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, data management, mass communication software, and social media applications.
  • Proficiency in website content management systems and basic understanding of web analytics preferred.
  • Experience in marketing, communications, or public relations is beneficial.
  • Experience in graphic design and desktop publishing preferred.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, travel, and events.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service orientation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and recordkeeping abilities.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, make sound judgments, work without close supervision, and respond effectively to the needs of supervisors, colleagues, and clientele.


Additional Information:

This position requires occasional evening or weekend work to support events or deadlines. Travel may be required for onsite event support, program activities, or meetings.
