Department: COM | Otolaryngology Research Services Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The Research Assistant is responsible for executing clinical research projects, chart reviews and other projects. This position will work closely with the Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Otolaryngology to develop and execute projects. The Research Assistant will work with the Director on writing research papers, articles or abstracts, and could present findings at meetings (virtual or in person). Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of research experience required. Additional Information: Responsibilities Patient enrollment, data collection, and database management. Lead data collection efforts with responsibilities including creating data collection tools, developing data collection workflow plans, and entering data. Assist in the collection of specimens for the Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH) biorepository (including consenting and reviewing operating room (OR) schedule for upcoming cases). Assist residents, surgical fellows, and faculty with data analysis and manuscript development. Meetings with clinical research leaders and department faculty, residents, and surgical fellows to discuss new and ongoing projects. Assist with planning for and initiating new clinical research projects including Institutional Review Board (IRB) application development and management. Perform other duties as assigned.
