Department: ICE | CORE PA ABC Nurses Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: Under the direction of the Access Manager, the Cancer Call Center LPN will navigate and perform patient scheduling, referral management of internal and external patient referrals, and will triage complex scheduling request in electronic health record systems. The LPN will work closely with Cancer Service Line, clinics, and providers to appropriately schedule new and returning patients from internal or external provider referrals. The LPN will be responsible for reviewing and requesting clinical documentation as appropriate. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: LPN nursing program. Minimum of 1 year of Practical Nursing experience. Basic computer skills. Excellent communication skills. Strong work ethics and accountability. Current and valid Arkansas Practical Nurse License. Additional Information: Additional Information: Will be required to identify, differentiate, or rule out non-urgent/urgent, non-acute/acute, emergent, life-threatening symptoms in order to provide safe and timely disposition of referrals. Responds to patient inquiries, prioritizes responses and routes urgent situations to an appropriate provider. Maintains accurate and appropriate documentation and follows patient privacy in accordance with HIPPA and UAMS policies and procedures. Performs to the level of a licensed practical nurse as dictated by the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and UAMS. The LPN will utilize decision making software and the application of a variety of procedures, policies and/or precedents relating to both the standards and procedures of the nursing profession and those established by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
