Candidates should have a passion for an aging population focusing on the neurodegenerative (primarily Parkinson's disease) and orthopaedic patient populations. The position works alongside PT's and Community Fitness coordinators and membership in the Reynolds Institute on Aging on the UAMS Campus.
The outpatient physical therapist provides an individualized evaluation, during which the client, family/caregiver, and physical therapist determine the patient's goals, customize interventions to optimize the person's ability to perform functional activities, and continuously assess progress towards goals to ensure goals are being met and/or to modify the intervention plan based on the patient's needs and skills. Functional outcomes data is completed through collection of best practice data via patient questionnaires, performance measures, and documented treatment interventions.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2002, OR Master's degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2016, OR Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy or eligible for licensure
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of experience in Physical Therapy
OCS, CSCS, DN Certified

Responsibilities:
Performs comprehensive examination of patients using appropriate tests/measures, completes the evaluation, and formulates an individualized plan of care.
Provides evidence-based quality patient treatments and monitors patient for physiological status during sessions.
Provides individualized patient education.
Documents evaluations, treatment sessions, and education sessions, and submits accurate charges according to regulatory policies.
Provides education regarding the physical therapy discipline.
Serves as a clinical instructor/mentor and provides education to other disciplines within UAMS and/or the community.
Participates in multidisciplinary and department communication, including patient care discussions and/or meetings and unit/department/hospital meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
