Department: Biomedical Engineering Hourly and GAs Department's Website: https://engineering.uark.edu/ Summary of Job Duties: This Postdoctoral Fellow will contribute to one component of the R35-funded mechanobiology project, which may include: - Computational modeling and quantitative analysis of multicellular morphogenesis. - Experimental studies using multicellular cluster models. - Characterization of cell subpopulations based on mechanical phenotypes. The individual hired for this position will also collect, manage, and analyze experimental or computational data for the assigned focus. In addition, they will be required to participate in lab meetings, contribute to experimental planning, assist with manuscripts or reports as appropriate, maintain lab safety, and follow all institutional and federal research protocols. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications: PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics, Cell Biology, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment Experience in experimental or computational mechanobiology Experience with laboratory safety protocols and good research practices Basic proficiency in data analysis or computational tools relevant to the project Preferred Qualifications: Experience with finite element methods, molecular biology techniques, or xenograft mouse tumor models Experience in 3D cell culture, traction force microscopy, or computational mechanics Familiarity with cell sorting, bioenergetics assays, or multicellular modeling Experience mentoring or training students Experience integrating experimental and computational approaches Additional Information: This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
