Kenai Peninsula College (KPC) invites applications for the position of Program Coordinator for the federally funded TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the academic success and retention of low-income, first-generation, and disabled students. The successful candidate will join a collaborative campus community dedicated to student achievement and educational equity.

The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program at KPC is dedicated to empowering first-generation, low-income, and disabled college students to achieve their academic and career goals through comprehensive support, resources, and advocacy. As a TRIO SSS Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in fostering student success by developing personalized education plans, conducting outreach, facilitating workshops, and coordinating program activities to ensure participants thrive in their postsecondary journey.

To thrive in this role you should be passionate about student development, with a knack for building trusting relationships and advocating for underserved populations. Success in this position requires strong communication and organizational skills to deliver individualized support, lead engaging workshops, and collaborate across campus departments. Experience in academic advising, career counseling, or program coordination will help you navigate the dynamic needs of TRIO participants while maintaining accurate records and driving recruitment efforts.

Knowledge of postsecondary education systems, including admissions, financial aid, and transfer processes; familiarity with TRIO programs is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems for record-keeping and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in student personnel administration, developmental education, counseling, testing, or other fields related to the project's objectives required.

Three years of experience in academic advising, career counseling, caseload management or related fields required.

Experience working in higher education, preferably in a community college setting.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Kenai Peninsula College campus in Soldotna. This is a full-time, term, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, starting at $27.95 per hour, based on education and experience.
