The Recruitment and Retention of Alaska Natives and American Indians in Nursing (RRANN) Student Success Facilitator is a position designed to focus on duties and responsibilities that support Alaska Native and American Indian students pursuing a Nursing degree at UAA. They develop long-term relationships with students, help them ignite success from within, express their voices, and provide them with many unique and meaningful experiences – all without judgment. They are there to listen, encourage, lend support, and suggest practical steps toward reaching each student’s goals. The individual in this position must be self-motivated, work well as a part of a team and independently, have great social skills, be comfortable working with a diverse student population, and above all be passionate about student success.

The ideal candidate for this role is reliable and capable of working independently. They possess strong administrative and organizational skills, ensuring efficient management of tasks. With excellent social skills and an open personality, the candidate is adept at customer service, assessing student needs, and then providing the appropriate guidance. They are comfortable working with multiple online platforms while showcasing adaptability and technological proficiency. Additionally, the candidate is proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously as well as maintaining spreadsheets and data with meticulous attention to detail. Experience organizing and leading events such as Social Circles, Gatherings, and Information Sessions is invaluable. Overall, this candidate possesses a well-rounded skill set that aligns with the diverse responsibilities of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree and one year experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in nursing. Degree in other field with a Health, Education, or Social Welfare emphasis will be considered.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
