Student Community Events Assistant

The Kachemak Bay Campus is seeking applicants for a Student Community Events Assistant position. This is a great opportunity for an individual competent working as a member of a team to assist with supporting community events, developing and disseminating marketing materials, and working to documenting campus events.

We’re looking for students who are dependable, willing to learn, and able to work well with others. Strong communication, time-management, organization, and a positive attitude are valued; previous work experience is not always required.

Job Duties:

• Be available to help with event setup and breakdown, and event coverage, including some evenings and weekends, including opening and closing the campus when and where appropriate and agreed upon.
• Help respond to and process room use reservations, including scheduling, room setup, and technical needs, as well as contracts in DocuSign where appropriate.
• Help maintain the Room Use Contract Tracking document and download final contracts in Puffin.
• Help maintain room calendars (add events to room calendars and copy to master and non-credit)
• Print and post room schedules outside Pioneer classrooms weekly
• Coordinate with facilities and the IT department around room use needs where appropriate.
• Record attendance totals when possible in the audience tracking document
• Help distribute flyers throughout the community when necessary.
• Other duties as agreed upon.

Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with a diverse population of faculty, staff, students and public. Ability to multi-task. Excellent organizational skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

During the academic year, undergraduate students must be taking at least 6 credits and international undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 12 credits.

Students must have and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA to be employed as a student employee.

While classes are in session, students may work up to 20 hours per week. They may work more hours during the winter, spring and summer breaks, up to 40 hours per week.

An unrestricted Alaska driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria is required.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Kachemak Bay Campus in Homer Alaska.
