Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $44,200 - Midpoint: $55,300 (Salaried E6)

Department/Organization: 200603 - Admissions

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; some evenings & weekends.

Note to Applicants: Position is eligible for hybrid work subject to University policy.

Job Summary: The Event Coordinator oversees the implementation, execution, and follow-up for events hosted on- and off-campus. Creates invitations. Selects sites. Creates seating arrangements. Negotiates with florist, caterers, event space staff, print shops, etc. Manages on-site contract staff, students, and etc.

Additional Department Summary: Attends events as assigned, which include but are not limited to, receptions for prospective students/parents, high school counselor briefings, Capstone Scholars Day, and additional events as they occur.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and some event planning or coordination experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of event planning or coordination experience; OR high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of event planning or coordination experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Detailed oriented. Ability to multi-task. Ability to work as a team member and work closely with other areas on campus. Knowledge of etiquette, protocol, social manners, menus, decorations, and service skills as it relates to event planning. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs.

Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year experience working in a higher education environment with a preference for Admissions.
