Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
Job Summary: The Accounting Assistant III maintains accurate financial records. Provides accounting and bookkeeping support. Assists University staff in understanding industry standards, current laws, and university policy as it relates to the financial affairs of the University. Provides guidance, trains, and/or may supervise entry-level Accounting Assistants.
Additional Department Summary: Serves as the primary financial contact for the Department of Psychology. Provides advanced financial support to the Department Chair. Maintains department budgets. Submits payroll forms for processing. Submits positions and requisitions in PageUp for department faculty and staff hiring (as backup for Administrative Assistant II).
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR bachelor's degree.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively and concisely written and verbally. Ability to problem solve and propose solutions consistent with established policies and procedures. Ability to work cooperatively with others toward common objectives. Strong organizational and time management skills and be detailed oriented. Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications: Banner, Concur, PageUp, and UA systems experience.
