What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aftercare Teacher position at University Montessori School?
University Montessori is a small, non-profit school serving children ages 3-6yrs. We are currently seeking a warm, engaged, teacher to join our afternoon program (30hrs/wk 11:30am - 5:30pm M-F). Position to begin as soon as possible, with flexible scheduling available during training period.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Follows the school's policies for interaction, instruction, and discipline of children
Supports the positive work environment by communicating openly and thoughtfully with administration and staff
Flexible about placement and tasks as directed by administration
Works well both independently and with other teachers
Comfortable being self-directed
High school degree
Arrives on time
Good written and oral communication skills
2 years experience working with children
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Degree/GED or higher
Experience working with children in a preschool or kindergarten setting
Familiarity and/or Experience with Montessori methodology
