Job Summary
Performs a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures on patients of all ages, completing all necessary tasks and responsibilities to manage patient care needs while they are in the department for procedures. Acts as the point of care (POC) for laboratory tests conducted at an urgent care clinic. Preforms special procedures in the medical laboratory, including but not limited to glucose monitoring, ISTAT, HCG, strep & COVID testing, hematology, special chemistry and urinalysis. Processes reference laboratory specimens and handles computer task as needed. Assists in development, monitoring and coordination of department-specific systems and activities aimed at the improving the quality of patient care.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Work Experience:
One year of experience conducting diagnostic imaging procedures preferred, preferably in a hospital or Urgent Care setting.
License/Registration/Certification:
Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Texas Certified Medical Radiological Technologist, (MRT) required.
ARRT (R) required.
Active BLS certification required.
Education and Training:
Graduate of accredited radiological technologist program required.
Skills:

- Proficient in performing various diagnostic imaging procedures (X-rays, CT, MRIs).
- Strong patient care skills, ensuring safety, comfort, and effective communication during procedures.
- Knowledge of laboratory tests, including glucose monitoring, ISTAT, HCG, strep, COVID testing, and urinalysis.
- Ability to process and document laboratory specimens accurately using RIS, PACS, and other systems.
- Skilled in troubleshooting imaging and laboratory equipment issues.
- Proficient in using radiology software, documentation systems, and computers for patient data management.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, physicians, and staff.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to ensure accurate imaging and diagnosis.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and regulatory compliance for imaging and lab work.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to handle high volumes of tasks and patients.
