UH Elyria Medical Center is a 23-bed inpatient unit that provides care to surgical, medical, gastrointestinal, wound, end-of-life, and trauma patients.

A Brief Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process to assist them in attaining, maintaining, regaining, and sustaining optimal health status.

Responsibilities

• Functions in accordance with the professional standards of the Ohio board of nursing.
• Completes/submits required documentation.
• Delivers effective relationship-based nursing care.
• Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.
• Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.
• Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing.

Additional Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• Maintains Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients and adheres to annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education

• Completion of an accredited nursing program or currently enrolled in a nursing program.

Work Experience

• 2 years of nursing experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of RN scope of practice according to the Ohio board of nursing.
• Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies.
• Leadership skills, including committee involvement and peer reviews.

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi-State Compact License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
