A Brief Overview
A Fitness Specialist provides health and fitness service, ensures a safe and clean environment while initiating fitness assessments, exercise and equipment orientations, and promoting fitness center programs and services.
What You Will Do
- Conducts primary fitness assessments and equipment orientations.
- Acts as Manager on Duty when the management team is not present.
- Sanitizes the equipment and ensures it is safe and in working order. Ensures supplies on the fitness floor are properly stocked.
- Moves quickly and acts as the primary responder once on scene in all emergency codes - if 1st responder: must perform CPR, use AED, or apply first aid as needed; if 2nd responder: must help as needed, crowd control, and handle documentation.
- Develops incentive programs and presentations to keep members engaged and educated.
- Delivers health screenings and special events on and off site as needed.

- Complies with all policies and standards.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
