A Brief Overview
$2,500.00 sign-on bonus eligable external and internal hires.
This position serves as a registry eligible sonographer in the echocardiography laboratory and at the cardiology satellite offices. The cardiac sonographer I will be trained and must be willing to learn all aspects of an echocardiographic exam, have a basic knowledge of cardiac pathology/echo equipment and perform other duties as assigned. The cardiac sonographer I contributes skills to assist with an efficient operation of the department.
Additional Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education
High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and
Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Technology Program (Required) or
Graduate of an approved Sonography Program with cross-training in echocardiography (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Basic knowledge of cardiac pathology; (Required proficiency)
Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of echocardiography (Required proficiency)
Ability to learn to use all types of echo machines; (Required proficiency)
basic computer skills; (Required proficiency)
good communication skills (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or RCS of graduation from an approved Cardiovascular Technology Program (Required within 1 Year) or
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or RCS within two years from the start date of cross-training in echocardiography or working to fulfill clinical experience pre-requisites for a credentialing examination (Required within 2 Years) and
Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
