Supervisor, Laboratory Pre-Analytical

A Brief Overview
This position will support UH Specialty Lab locations -- Seidman Center Center, Transplant and Employee Health 

Acts in a supportive role to the managers as well as the Director. Coordinates and directs the activities of all the daily pre analytical and post analytical operations.

What You Will Do
 

• Oversees and supervises the daily operations of Specimen Processing, Specimen Collection, and Accessioning, under the technical supervision of the Manager to provide high quality, cost effective patient care with a competent staff including hiring, firing, and performance oversight.
• Coach and mentor staff including but not limited to providing guidance and feedback to ensure highest level of patient experience.
• Ensures clean compliant order processing in compliance with regulatory agencies by following established standards.
• Accurate, timely, and efficient specimen management including receipt, preparation/organizing, labeling, delivery, and documentation within CLIA defined pre-analytic and post-analytic phases of testing.
• Provides coverage to front-line operations to maintain business continuity.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
